Preliminary project survey

Sinomach subsidiary China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) has signed a $1.8 billion project for Turkey's Aksaray-Ulukisla-Yenice Railway (the Turkey AUY Railway Project) with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey.

With a speed of 250 kilometers per hour, the Turkey AUY Railway is a high-speed line with a double track and electrical cabling along a 196-kilometer route. It will run through four provinces in Turkey, including Aksarai, which will put an end to the province's lack of operational railways. The project will also contribute to the social and economic development of those areas.

CMEC will work with a Turkish partner experienced in infrastructure construction to complete the design, procurement and construction of the project. CMEC is tasked with the supply and construction of the communications, electrical cables, steel rails, signaling systems, and interactive systems that will make up the "neural network" of the high-speed line.

The new model of win-win cooperation gives full play to the strengths of China's high-speed rail technology, and helps Chinese-made high-speed railways win recognition around the world. It also provides a lot of job opportunities for Turkish enterprises and people.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Turkey, and deepening and diversifying bilateral business cooperation and trade channels has become a natural option for the two countries as they seek to boost, restore and advance their growing strength. China and Turkey enjoy wide cooperative space for businesses in information and communications, equipment manufacturing, clean energy and modern agriculture.

The Turkey AUY Railway Project is a testimony to CMEC's efforts to develop the Turkish market, and sets a good example for cooperation between China and Turkey. It explores a new path for Chinese enterprises to further boost Turkey's infrastructure construction.
